Yet again, T-Mobile is offering another new deal for mobile users who are considering switching to a new network. The wireless carrier’s latest offer promises a couple of unlimited lines of service for a price of $100, or if the customer is already under an existing T-Mobile plan, he can get 2 more lines for the price of one. By signing up for the Auto Pay option, customers can enjoy all inclusive pricing.
Because this new special offer is made available for a limited time only and with no end date announced, interested parties better avail of the deal right away. What makes this promo cool is that not only does it benefit switching customers from rival networks, it also rewards users that are currently already under a T-Mobile plan.
Also, the third biggest mobile operator in the United States has also decided to increase the limit of its data deprioritization. Indeed, the previous threshold of 30 gigabytes has now been boosted to 32 gigabytes of high speed 4G LTE. This means that customers now can enjoy data usage until 32 gigabytes before their connection speeds are slowed down temporarily to 3G, especially in times of network congestion.
Every other member of the Big Four (namely Verizon Wireless, AT&T, and Sprint) also has a data deprioritization policy set up, but T-Mobile appears to have a more generous allowance. Industry leaders Verizon Wireless and AT&T have thresholds at 22 gigabytes. As for Sprint, the limit is currently at 23 gigabytes.
But why is there data deprioritization in the first place? According to T-Mobile, the policy provides the wireless carrier with a means for ensuring that its overall network delivers quality coverage and performance for every one of its subscribers. Simply put, data deprioritization is just a form of a network management practice.
While other users may not be that comfortable with carriers’ bending of the definition of unlimited data, data deprioritization is still better than paying for overages. Nevertheless, a data deprioritization policy may still not make perfect sense, especially for those looking to sign up for a true unlimited data plan, wherein data really is unlimited.
T-Mobile has been busy the past week launching deals here and there. For those who missed them, know that the carrier had introduced a 4 unlimited line promo for a price of $140. The mobile operator has also launched a new campaign that targets customers from Verizon Wireless. Also, T-Mobile is expected to officially debut its Digits feature this week.
