On the wake of its Galaxy Note 7 disaster, Samsung is certainly looking to effect some damage control, not only with regards to its bleeding sales, but also to its reputation as one of the world’s most reliable manufacturers of smartphone devices. So this time around, the South Korean phone maker has decided to issue a new color option for one of its certified smartphone hits -- the Galaxy S7 Edge.
The new option is officially called Coral Blue, and even though this marks the first time the color is used for the Galaxy S7 Edge, Samsung actually has offered this option for its latest phablet, the beleaguered Galaxy Note 7. But since that device is no more, Samsung fans will have to content themselves with the Coral Blue Galaxy S7 Edge. This device is slated for release in a limited number of markets including Singapore this coming November 5th.
Samsung has its work cut out for it after dealing with the Galaxy Note 7 mess, so offering a new color option for a proven hit and a readily available model sounds like a good means for making its users look forward to a Galaxy device again. As far as features and functionalities go, the Galaxy S7 Edge might not be able to equal the specifications offered by the Galaxy Note 7, but the Galaxy S7 Edge is far from being a slouch.
The road to recovery for Samsung may prove to be a long and challenging one. Based on its latest quarterly results, the biggest smartphone vendor across the globe is already suffering the aftershocks of the Galaxy Note 7’s failure. The South Korean tech giant now has no choice but try its best to recoup its losses by enticing buyers to go for Galaxy devices already out in the market, offering new variants (like what it is doing with the Coral Blue Galaxy S7 Edge), or promise to make its next generation flagship devices (starting with the Galaxy S8 models) too awesome to resist.
Making its minimalistic, stylish mobile accessories available to the rest of the world may also help matters. Starting in November of this year, Samsung is planning to release its suite of accessories to a certain number of markets around the world. These accessories include a wireless charging tray, a battery pack, a Bluetooth LED light, in-ear headphones, and a pair of wireless speakers. Previously, this suite was only offered to South Korean mobile users. For other Samsung deals, you can compare phones and plans from Samsung at Wirefly now.
