To that end, last year, Pareteum procured a worldwide license to embed iPass technology as part of its connectivity strategy.
You may recall, in 2008 we were pretty impressed with how iPass helped create a communications skin first discussed by the head of Bell Labs. Specifically, they allowed a single login and password to access a network of global WiFi devices.
Now, the two companies are involved in M&A meaning the best of both companies can be harnessed by customers worldwide.
In an exclusive interview, CEO Vic Bozzo explained, Vic said, "Wireless is eating everything. Demand is growing and carriers can't keep up." He continued, "Pareteum provides flexible, elastic, cloud-based management of all of these streams of communications."
Our most recent video interview with Vic Bozzo
With iPass, they get a top-notch connectivity manager allowing customers to toggle easily between wireless and WiFi. In addition, they get access to 65 million global hotspots and over 500 Fortune 1,000 customers.
"Customers can now connect anywhere and everywhere," he exclaimed.
He went on to explain, companies are taking advantage of their open APIs to take advantage of more flexible communications and the smart-city space is beginning to heat up as a customer segment.
It's a great story with impressive synergies - a further abstraction of communications, allowing companies and developers to focus on solutions and apps, while ensuring connectivity is handled in the most efficient manner.
