AT&T is launching a new special offer for new and existing subscribers this week, specifically a buy one get one promo on the major US wireless carrier’s best selling mobile devices. In this deal, customers who decide to purchase a brand new smartphone will get another device and only get to pay for one unit. This offer is good until December 24th.
This latest offer from the second biggest mobile operator in the United States applies to handsets such as Samsung’s current flagship devices, the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge, as well as the Galaxy S7 Active. Customers who avail of this promo are also free to combine this offer with AT&T’s $650 switching deal.
In order to be eligible for the new buy one get one offer from AT&T, customers will have to activate at least one new line of service, and then purchase both new handsets by way of the wireless carrier’s Next or Next Every Year early upgrade plans. As for the second free handset, its cost will be reimbursed over a period of 24 or 30 months through bill credits given every month, to a total amount of $695 or about $28.95 a month or $23.15 a month. The second device will be free after the customer’s AT&T Next installment agreement ends. It is worth noting though that for customers who do decide to cancel the agreement early, they will need to pay the full remaining balance of both Galaxy S7 handsets. Moreover, they will lose any further monthly bill credits for their free device. Lastly, they will be made to get an extra line of service to their current plan in order to considered eligible.
Customers are also given the option of apply their bill credits towards any other handset up to the amount of $795. Qualified devices include Apple’s iPhone 7 and LG’s G5 (albeit, the customer will be required to pay the additional $100). Customers will also be required to pay all taxes and fees during the point of sale for both new handsets.
As mentioned earlier, this promo will run until Christmas Eve. For customers switching from other wireless carriers, they can get up to $650 per line of service to cover any early termination fees or prior handset payments. All they need to do is port their phone number, trade in their existing smartphone, and then furnish AT&T with their final bill from their old mobile operator.
