The biggest wireless carrier in America has decided to introduce a brand new international calling add-on for subscribers of its postpaid mobile plans. Verizon Wireless’ new Unlimited Together - World option basically allows mobile users to enjoy unlimited voice calls to landline phone numbers in over 70 countries around the world, as well as unlimited voice calls to mobile phone numbers in more than 40 destinations. On top of all that, customers of the Big Red will also get discounts on voice calls, from as low as $0.05 a minute, to over 160 additional countries across the globe.
At a price of $15 a month, Verizon Wireless’ Unlimited Together - World option should give competitive rates for popular countries located in Latin American and Caribbean regions. Indeed, the unlimited landline and mobile calling covers destinations such as Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Martinique, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela. Unlimited voice calls to landline phone numbers and mobile phone numbers also apply in countries such as Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and many more.
For those mobile users whose voice calls are only limited to Mexico and Canada, they can do well to get the Unlimited Together - North American option. In this add-on, they will get unlimited voice calls to landline phone numbers and mobile phone numbers to both Mexico and Canada, as well as low cost calls to over 230 other destinations, for $5 a month.
The Unlimited Together add-ons certainly look to be cheaper options, at least when compared to the Big Red’s regular pay per minute prices, which start from $0.20 a minute for most countries, and $0.49 a minute for voice calls to Mexico and Canada. And despite the fact that text messaging is not part of the new packages, postpaid subscribers of Verizon Wireless can still enjoy access to their unlimited international text messaging as included in their domestic plans, with no additional charges.
How does Unlimited Together fare against similar offers from Verizon Wireless’ rivals? T-Mobile has its Stateside International Talk, which costs $15 a month, and already comes with unlimited voice calls to landline phone numbers to more than 70 countries, unlimited voice calls to mobile phone numbers to over 30 countries, and discounts on voice calls to over 200 countries. As for Sprint’s International Connect: Call and Text, it offers unlimited landline calls to over 60 countries, unlimited mobile calls to more than 35 countries, and unlimited text messaging anywhere, all at $15 a month.
